How it works
Compares canonical address ranges. For two prefixes in one address family, CIDR alignment means their relationship is equality, containment in one direction, or disjointness; partially overlapping CIDR prefixes cannot occur. The smallest covering prefix is a broad summary and can include addresses between disjoint inputs, so it is not presented as an exact aggregation. IPv4 and IPv6 are reported as different families and not mapped into each other.
